1.3.32 Seat belts
Put on the seat belt. Push the metal eye into the buckle until the metal eye is locked. Adjust the seat belt
as far down as possible.
To release the seat belt buckle, push the button in the center of the buckle. Remove the metal eye from
the buckle.
Use the following checklist to keep the seat belts in good condition:
• Keep sharp edges and items that can cause damage away from the belts.
• Do a check on the belts, buckles, and mount bolts for damage. Make sure that the mount bolts are
tight.
• Replace all parts that have damage or are worn.
• Replace seat belts that have cuts that can make the belts weak.
• Do a check on the bolts to make sure they are tight on the seat bracket.
• Make sure that the seat is firmly attached.
• Keep the seat belts clean and dry.
• Clean the belts only with a soap solution and warm water.
• Do not use bleach or dye on the belts because this can make the belts weak.
1.3.33 Fall protection rails
To prevent falls when in inspection and
maintenance operations, these models are
equipped with fall protection rails on the upper part
of the machine, around the cab, and on the ladder
to the cab.
The front rail (1) is on the left side of the engine
cover. Always lift the front rail when you go on top
of the engine cover.
Pull the rail up to full height and turn
counterclockwise. Lower the rail a small distance
to lock into position.
To put the rail in the storage position, lift the rail a
small distance and turn clockwise. Lower the rail
into the frame.
DANGER: Machine electrical shock
and electrocution hazard.
Personal injury or death can occur.
Keep the machine clear of overhead
electrical power lines.
CAUTION:
Lower the rail when the rail is not in
use.
