7.6.6 Cleaning the banknote channel
7.6.6.1 Premiminary operations
Ask an operator to perform a banknote collection. A.
7.6.6.2 Cleaning the banknote reader
Remove and open the banknote reader (refer to the maintenance guide). A.
Check: B.
a. that there are no scratches on the lenses and illuminated guides of the optical
sensors,
b. that there is no dirt, cracks or signs of stretching on the rolls,
c. that the optical sensors are clean,
d. that there are no mechanical damages, dusts, debris or particles on the
banknote path.
DO NOT USE acetone or oil-based solvents: they damage plastic and the lenses, which
would breach the guarantee.
C.Use compressed air to remove dusts and particles.
D. Use a soft brush or a soft cloth moistened with clear water to clean the lenses and
the ultraviolet (1), optical (2), and cross type (3) sensors.
