Detection Beam Issues
Detection issues can occur:
• With vehicles that edge into your lane
that can only be detected once they
have moved fully into your lane (A).
Motorcyclists may be detected late, or
not at all (B).
• With vehicles in front of you when
going into and coming out of a bend
(C). The detection beam will not follow
sharp curves in the road.
In these cases the system may brake late
or unexpectedly. You should stay alert and
intervene if necessary.
Automatic Braking
WARNINGS
You must take immediate action
once alerted, as the adaptive cruise
control braking will not be sufficient
to keep a safe distance to the vehicle in
front of you.
In some cases there may be no
warning or the warning may be
delayed. You should always apply
the brakes when necessary.
When following a vehicle, the system
will not automatically decelerate to
a stop.
If required, the system will automatically
brake for you to maintain the set gap
between your vehicle and the one detected
in front of you. This braking capacity is
limited to approximately 30% of the total
manual braking capacity to maintain
smooth and comfortable cruising. If your
vehicle needs to brake heavily and you do
not intervene by braking manually, an
alarm will sound and the display will show
a warning symbol.
