wall mount gas-fired water boiler boiler manual
Prepare condensate trap assembly
is boiler is equipped with an internal air-trap to drain o condensate.
1. Remove the condensate trap kit from the accessories bag.
2. See Figures 60, 61 and 62. e gures below shows the installation
of the condensate trap connections.
3. Install the inspection coupling A and gasket as shown. Finger
tighten securely.
4. Slide the clamp (from the condensate trap kit) onto the exible
drain tube (item
B), See Figure61. Push the exible tube (itemB)
approximately 1-3/4” (Figure61) onto the end of the tube (bottom
of boiler) as shown in Figure60.
20 Install condensate line
Condensate drain system
1. Install condensate drain by connecting tubing or PVC
pipe to the exible drain line. Run the drain tubing
or piping to a oor drain or condensate pump
. e
exible drain line will t in a ¾” PVC coupling. Run
minimum ½” PVC for the piping to drain or condensate
pump.
Use materials approved by the authority having
jurisdiction. In the absence of other authority,
PVC and CPVC pipe must comply with ASTM
D1785, F441 or D2665. Cement and primer
must comply with ASTM D2564 or F493.
2. Select a condensate pump (if used) that is approved for
use with condensing boilers and furnaces. e pump
should have an overow switch to prevent property
damage from condensate spillage. e pump should
have a minimum capacity of 2GPH for the FS-80,
3 GPH for the FS-120 or 4GPH for the FS-155.
3. When sizing condensate pumps, make sure to include
the total load of all appliances connected to it.
e condensate line must remain unobstructed,
allowing free ow of condensate. If condensate
is allowed to freeze in the line or if the line is
obstructed in any other manor, condensate can
exit from the boiler tee, resulting in potential
water damage to property.
Condensate from the boiler will be slightly
acidic (typically with a pH from 3.2 to 4.5).
Install a neutralizing lter when draining into
metal pipe and if required by local codes. See
Replacement parts section starting on page120
for the Williamson-ermoo kit.
5. Fill the air-trap with approximately 1/2 quart (0.5
liters) of water and connect the condensate drain tube
to the condensate drain system
e condensate trap must be in place during all oper-
ation. Make sure the trap is securely attached to the
condensate outlet and that the condensate discharge
line is in good condition and installed per this man-
ual. Failure to comply could result in severe per-
sonal injury, death or substantial property damage.
