Do not use the CAN card for safety-critical functions.
The optional CAN card enables the charger's operating statuses and the connected bat-
tery's state of charge to be evaluated externally.
More information on the CAN card can be found in the instructions supplied with the
CAN card option.
WARNING!
An electric shock can be fatal.
Only trained service technicians may open the housing. This includes removing the con-
nection plate. The device must be disconnected from the mains before starting any work
with the housing open. A suitable measuring instrument must be used to ensure that
electrically charged components (e.g. capacitors) are fully discharged. Use an easily
legible and understandable warning sign to ensure that the charger is not reconnected to
the mains supply before all the work has been completed.

Work that is carried out improperly can cause serious injury or damage.
Connection work on the device must only be carried out by qualified specialist techni-
cians. If there are Installation Instructions or User Information for the optional component
concerned, then all warning notices and instructions therein must be obeyed.
Once the connection work is complete, a safety inspection must be carried out in accord-
ance with relevant national and international standards and directives. Further details on
safety inspections can be obtained from your authorised service centre. They will provide
you with any documents you may require on request.
The figure shows the connections in the CAN connection area. The CAN connection
area is located behind the connection plate on the front of the device.
