Measuring points on the secondary and transil diodes
Measuring points on the secondary and transil diodes
The secondary diodes can be measured
with a multimeter in the diode test mode
when disconnected from the power supply.
A voltage of approx. 0.3 V must be measu-
red in the forward direction of the diode (1).
Other measurement results indicate a failu-
re of the diode and it must be replaced.
Transil diodes (2) function similar in princi-
ple to the Zener diode and are conductive
from a certain voltage. If the diodes are low
resistance, this indicates a defect and the
PC board must be replaced.
