Foreword and safety instructions
Safety The safety instructions listed below apply to all activities described in these Service Instruc-
tions:
DANGER!
Risk of death due to contact with live components when the device is open!
An electric shock will cause serious injury or death.
► If the device is switched on with the housing open, do not touch the components inside
the housing.
► Use only suitable measuring probes or test probes.
WARNING!
Work performed incorrectly can cause serious injury and damage to property.
► All activities described in the Service Instructions must only be carried out by a trained
Fronius service technician.
► Please note the information in the “Safety Rules” chapter in the Operating Instructions
for the power source.
WARNING!
An electric shock can be fatal.
Before opening the device
► Set power switch to - O - on the welding power supply
► Unplug the welding power supply from mains power
► Secure against anyone turning on power again
► Use a suitable measuring instrument to ensure that electrically charged components
(e.g., capacitors) are discharged
WARNING!
An inadequate ground conductor connection can cause serious injury and damage
to property.
The housing screws act as a ground conductor connection for grounding the housing.
► The housing screws must not under any circumstances be replaced by other screws
without a reliable ground conductor connection.
Warning Notices
on the Device
Warning notices and safety symbols can be found on power sources with the CSA test
mark for use in the North American region (USA and Canada). These warning notices and
safety symbols must not be removed or painted over. They warn against incorrect opera-
tion, as this may result in serious injury and property damage.
