LDAP Server
(Active Directory Configuration)
Active Directory needs to be configured to build an LDAP server. Configuring Active Directory
allows you to centrally manage information such as user data.
The scanner accesses the LDAP server to login or display an e-mail address book.
A DNS server must be set in order to use Active Directory. Therefore, if the system has no DNS
server or the existing DNS server is not used for the system, the DNS server function must be
installed with Active Directory.
This chapter describes the LDAP server settings, using Windows Server
®
2003 as an example, on
the assumption that the system has an existing DNS server.
