3.3 Changing SMTP Server Settings
An SMTP server, which is used for sending e-mails, has a different administrative tool than that for
the POP3 service.
Select [Start] - [Administrative Tools] - [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager] to make the
following settings.
• Access Control
• Connection Control
3.3.1 Access Control
Access control settings define the behavior of the SMTP server; whether user name and password
are required or how the user authentication is performed.
Authentication procedure for accessing to the SMTP server is described below.
1. Select [Start] - [Administrative Tools] - [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager].
⇒ The "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager" screen appears.
2. Right-click "Default SMTP Virtual Server", and select [Properties].
⇒ The "Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties" screen appears.
