SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, NOTICES
iv
When connecting the wire or after connect-
ing the wire, fix the wiring to ensure no
force is applied to the connector body and
terminal parts.
The parts and circuit may be damaged.
Do not use the equipment if it has been
accidentally dropped.
Using the equipment in such a state may cause
damage or result in equipment failure.
If the screen becomes dirty, wipe it using a
soft cloth while taking care not to scratch it.
Using a hazardous solvent may affect the color
or quality of the resin case, LCD or other parts.
Before wiping the screen, brush away any dust
on the screen to avoid scratching it. Note that if
you use a cleaner containing brine to wipe the
screen, you may scratch the LCD.
A certain number of bright spots and black
spots appear on the screen.
However, this is an inherent aspect of color
LCDs and does not indicate a failure.
Do not apply excessive pressure to the LCD
screen or apply pressure to it with a sharp
metallic object.
Doing so may damage the screen, leading to
deterioration of the insulation capacity and
waterproofing properties.
A load exceeding the durability level may cause
the equipment to malfunction or fail to operate.
If you are using a USB with the memory card
cover open, the dust-proofing and water-
proofing properties will not be effective.
When updating the program, save the
backup data containing points and other
information to the SD card to ensure data
security.
Do not apply excessive force when inserting
or removing the SD card.
Doing so may damage the connector area and
this equipment.
To remove the SD card while power is
turned on, tap [Eject SD] on [Menu] in
advance.
If you remove the SD card while data is being
read or written, the data may be destroyed.
Note that if you use an SD card other than
the one tested at FURUNO for storage and
regeneration of information such as the
waypoint data, the SD card may fail to store
or register information.
Do not apply excessive force when inserting
or removing the USB connector.
Doing so may damage the connector area and
this equipment.
Do not press the Force Shutdown button
with excessive force.
Doing so may damage the switch part and this
equipment.
Do not apply excessive force to the Power
key or apply pressure to it with a sharp
metallic object.
Doing so may damage the Power key part and
this equipment.
Do not subject the LCD display to direct
sunlight.
Direct sunlight can decrease the level of
visibility. Install the unit away from direct
sunlight.
