11.2 How to Replace the Fuse
The fuse in the fuse holder on the power cable protects the display unit from overcur-
rent and equipment fault. If you cannot turn on the power, check the fuse to see if it
has blown. If the fuse has blown, find the reason before you replace the fuse. If the
fuse blows again after the replacement, contact your dealer for advice.
11.3 Troubleshooting
This section provides simple troubleshooting procedures which the user can follow to
restore normal operation. If you cannot restore normal operation, do not check inside
the unit. Have a qualified technician check the equipment.
WARNING
Use the proper fuse.
Use of a wrong fuse can result in fire and dam-
age the equipment.

Problem Remedy
General Troubleshooting
You cannot turn on
the power.
Check for blown fuse.
Check that the power connector is tightly fastened.
Check for corrosion on the power cable connector.
Check for damaged power cable.
Check that the battery voltage is 10.8 to 31.2 V.
No picture
appears.
• Tap the Power key to show the [Backlight Brilliance] window
and tap the slider bar to raise the brilliance.
If the unit becomes hot, put it in a cool place to allow it to cool.
There is no re-
sponse when oper-
ating.
Turn off and on the power. If you do not get a response, the equip-
ment maybe defective. Contact your dealer for instructions.
Plotter Troubleshooting
Position is not
fixed.
Check that the antenna connector for the external antenna unit
is tightly fastened.
Check the number of satellites received, on the GPS Status
Display.
Check if the [Internal Antenna] setting at [Internal GPS Setup]
on the [System] menu is set to [On], if you are using the internal
GPS antenna.
Bearing is wrong. Check the [Variation] setting at [Compass] on the [System] menu.
The track of vessel
is not plotted.
Check that the track is turned on. Open [Menu] and tap [Track] to
turn the track ON.
The speed indica-
tion is not zero after
the boat is stopped.
Check that the [Position Filter] setting at [GPS Position] is [On] on
the [System] menu.
