Condensation, Safe condition area”
If the temperature in the electrical closet is 30°C, relative humidity 40%, and cooling liquid temperature is 20°C (the
lowest curve in the gure shown above), the drive’s working conditions are safe.
If the ambient temperature rises to 35°C and relative humidity to 60%, the drive’s working conditions are no longer
safe. In this case, to restore safe working conditions, the cooling liquid temperature must be brought to at least 25°C.
The following table (dew point table) presents the data shown in the above graph in numerical form (input temperature
of cooling liquid [°C] based on ambient temperature and humidity in air).

The dew point also depends on absolute pressure, i.e., on the altitude at which the electrical panel is installed.
At altitudes above sea level (0 m), atmospheric pressure (and therefore the dew point) decreases. For this reason, you
should always check the cooling liquid temperature by considering the curves and tables calculated for an altitude of 0
m.
In continuous operating conditions, a liquid-cooled inverter works at lower temperatures than an air-cooled inverter.
This extends the life of power components such electrolytic capacitors and IGBT modules.
The inverters have been sized based on continuous use of the cooling liquid at the nominal ow rates specied in the
manual. Discontinuous use of the cooling liquid (for example, to lower the possibility of condensation), or continuous
use but at lower ow rates than specied, may reduce the drive’s performance and may also shorten the life of some
components.
