Remove and Inspect Accessory Drive Belts
(replace if necessary)
Inspect tensioner (replace if necessary)
Inspect spark plug wires (replace if necessary)
Inspect heat socks (replace if necessary)
Apply Dielectric Grease to Disconnect Box Con-
nections
Check Electrical Connections
Exhaust/Catalyst Inspection

Clean and Adjust Magnetic Pick Up
Check Engine and Generator Mounts
Inspect Flexible Hoses (replace if necessary)
Lubricate Trailer Leveling Jacks
Check Battery Connections and Disconnect
Switch
Check Manifold/Pipe Hardware Torque (31 ft-
lbs [42 Nm])
Inspect DC stator (replace if necessary)
Remove valve covers and Inspect valvetrain for
excess wear or abnormalities
Check valve lash (adjust if necessary); if
adjusted, replace rocker nuts
Have a GMPASD replace distributor and reset
timing to 18° BTDC
Replace water pump, water pump gaskets,
thermostat, and coolant
Flush coolant system
Cylinder head swap: Replace cylinder head
assemblies, roller lifters, pushrods, rocker
arms, and rocker nuts
Replace head gaskets, intake gaskets, exhaust
manifold gaskets, cylinder head bolts, exhaust
manifold bolts, and any other consumables
during cylinder head swap
NG fuel filters See NG Fuel Filters, below
Replace harmonic balancer and front engine
seal
Replace spark plug wires
Replace automatic belt tensioner
