Troubleshooting
J1939 NO
VARISTEP COMMS
Lost J1939 CAN bus
communications with MotorTech
Throttle Module.
No J1939 CAN bus
messages have been
received from the Throttle
in the expected time frame.
Turn the Keyswitch to
OFF. Verify CAN bus
communications
between the Main
Controller and the
Throttle. Clear the
shutdown alarm using
the Display.
SHUTDOWN
BYPASS IS ACTIVE
The user can enable shutdown
bypass if the generator is
required to provide critical
support through a generator
alarm. This warning indicates the
generator is currently running
with or ready to run with the
shutdown bypass feature
enabled.
Shutdown bypass is
enabled, and the generator
is either ready to run or
running.
To clear the alarm,
disable the shutdown
bypass feature through
the Display.
SHUTDOWN
ALARM IS
BYPASSED
To provide critical support, a real
alarm or warning occurred but
was bypassed while shutdown
bypass was active. The Display
will log the alarm sensed by the
generator, but the generator will
not shut down because of the
alarm.
An alarm was detected and
bypassed by the generator.
Record the alarm noted
by the Display. Take
appropriate action to
resolve the alarm. Clear
the alarm using the
Display.
BASELOAD
SWITCH STILL
OPEN
Transfer switch open during a
baseload operation.
Baseload Switch still open
can be set if the generator
switch has not synched and
closed within 120 seconds.
Baseload switch still
open can be cleared by
acknowledging or by the
generator synching and
closing its switch.
BASELOAD
COMMS LOSS
No Baseload communications
within designated time.
Baseload Comms loss can
be set by the user not
sending a command via
Modbus within the user
specified Communications
loss time.
Baseload Comms loss
can be cleared by either
acknowledging or by
providing
communications via
Modbus.
NO DUAL FUEL
SENSOR
SELECTED
The “Dual Fuel” option is selected
as Fuel Type, but the Dual Fuel
settings have not been
configured. When Dual Fuel is
selected as the Fuel Type, the
following items must be
configured: the type of dual fuel
sensor, alarm settings for the
sensor, and the input channels for
the sensor.
Dual Fuel settings have not
been set with Dual Fuel
selected as the Fuel Type.
Turn the keyswitch to
OFF. Determine the fuel
type in use on the
generator. If it is not dual
fuel, find the Fuel Type
setting under Air Fuel
Setup in the Display and
correct the setting to the
appropriate fuel type. If it
is dual fuel, go to the
Dual Fuel Setup screen
on the Display and
complete the setup for
the dual fuel sensor.
