5.4.2 Single Gates Using Gate Loop Kit
When a section of the perimeter contains a gate which does not need to be isolated
from the system, a Gate Loop Kit GDGLK should be used. This provides a flexible
feeder cable to connect a loop of Interceptor cable mounted on the gate itself, in series
with the sensor running along the fence, and a feeder cable connection to allow the
sensor run to continue on the other side of the gate.
Note how the cable on the fence is configured on either side of the gate posts in order
to provide the best possible detection. Because the fence vibrates less where it is
braced by the gate posts, extra Alpha cable is attached to the fence to increase the
sensitivity.
In some cases it may be preferable to replace the ducted feeder cable by a length of
Interceptor cable passing up the fence from the gate loop kit, crossing above the gate
in rigid conduit and then passing down the fence on the other side before continuing
the run as normal. This will remove the need to bury conduit, and also removes the
need for the junction box connection on the far side of the gate.
