1. Correct use
The rivet setting tool is designed exclusively for setting speed rivets as described in the
operating instructions.
2. Safety instructions
• The rivet setting tool should only be used for setting speed rivets.
• Do not overload the tool; work within the prescribed work capacity.
• Do not use the tool outside of riveting holes. The speed rivet could be ejected from the tool!
Never turn the tool towards yourself or towards other people.
• Protective tube and protective cover should always be tted when operating the setting
tool.
• Do not use the rivet setting tool as a hammer.
• Check compressed air connections regularly to ensure they are well-tted and airtight.
• When carrying out maintenance work on the rivet setting tool and when the tool is not in
use, it should always be disconnected from the compressed air network.
• When working with the tool, always wear protective goggles. Personal protection like
clothes, gloves, safety helmet, non-slip shoes, ear protection and anti-fall protection are
highly recommended.
• Do not exceed the permitted working pressure.
• When depositing the rivet setting tool, make sure that it cannot fall.
• Repair work must be carried out by skilled personnel. In case of doubt, always send the
complete rivet setting tool back to the supplier or to GESIPA
®
.
• Dispose of the used hydraulic oil in accordance with valid environmental protection regu-
lations.
