Connecting Peripheral Devices
Connecting a USB Device
Your computer has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports for connecting USB
devices, such as a digital camera, scanner, printer, and mouse.
USB 3.2 Gen 2 supports a transfer rate up to 10 Gbit/s.
NOTE: Select models have a PowerShare USB port. This port can be set to
function as a standard USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. (See “Connecting a Device for
USB Charging (Optional)” later for information.)
Connecting a Thunderbolt™ Device
Depending on the model you have, there is one or two USB-C Thunderbolt™
ports. This port features:
USB Type-C (or simply USB-C) connector format
Up to 40 Gbps data transfer speed
DisplayPort
USB Power Delivery
Note that you should use the appropriate wattage/voltage USB-C power
adapter for your computer model.
For standard models: 65 W or above (20 V, 4.5 A or above)
For Discrete GPU models: 100 W or above (20 V, 4.5 A or above)
Applications include storage, display, networking, single-cable docking, and
more.
