NEW MACHINE LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
Component Action Required General Information
Engine Air Cleaner Check and tighten all connections
Drive Chains and belts Check tension and alignment Refer to the adjustment section
Brake Fluid Level Check fluid level, with combine parked on
level ground, and fill if necessary
Fluid level to be 6 mm (1/4 in) from
top.
Bolts (attaching wheels,
final drives, front and rear
axles, feeder elevator
brackets, straw chopper
hammers and beater
bearing housings)
Check torque Refer to appropriate sections of
manual
Rear (Steering) Wheels Check Toe in
Feeder Reverser Check fluid level. Initial fill only.

10 Hour Lubrication
Component Action Required General Information
Cylinder Driven Sheave Lubricate two fitting One fitting on right side of combine.
Variable Speed Corn
Header Drive Sheave - If
equipped
Lubricate two fittings Two fittings at front left side of feeder
house.
Feeder House Pivot
Bushing
Lubricate two fittings Two fittings on each side of feeder
house - lubricate with header sitting on
the ground.
Cylinder Coupling Lubricate two fittings Two fittings on right side of combine.
Drive Chains Oil drive chains (oil more often when
operating in extremely dusty conditions)
Refer to Drive Chains in this section.
10 Hour Maintenance
Component Action Required General Information
Air Conditioning Air Filter
and Secondary Filter
Remove element from top of cab and a/c unit
on bottom of cab and clean
Air Conditioning
Condenser
Check coil for chaff and dust accumulation.
Clean as necessary
Condenser located in front of radiator.
Drive Chains and Belts Conduct general inspection of all drive chains
and belts
Refer to this section.
Engine Air Intake Screen
and Aspirated
pre-cleaner
Check clamps on ends of aspirated tube
Engine Compartment Check for accumulation of chaff, leaves,
trash, etc. Clean as necessary.
Chaff, leaves and trash, which are
allowed to accumulate can create a
fire hazard.
Engine Oil Level Check oil level and fill if necessary
Hydraulic Oil Level Check hydraulic oil level Refer to Checking Oil Level in this
section.
