DESCENT INTO PIT EN81-20 + EN81-21 WITH CAR MOVEMENT
“high” / “low” TMC car = pit with a height of less than 1,000mm (min. 450-500 mm).
ENTRY SEQUENCE

Bring the car to the next floor above the pit by traditional call.

Open the landing door to the pit with the emergency key.

Meaning: The maintenance
technician can descend into the pit
safely as he is protected by the A3
anti-creep system of the overspeed
governor, which is active and
directly connected to the safety
system triggered by the intervention
of the car safety gear.

The lift is out of service (floor call buttons are lit up).

Press the emergency stop (red button).

Detach the ladder from its storage housing and place it ready for descent
into the pit.

Close the landing door (for safety).

Put the ladder back into its storage housing.

Lift the “CAR” pedestal from the horizontal position to the vertical
position.

Lift the “COUNTERWEIGHT” pedestal from the horizontal position to the
vertical position.

Release the emergency stop (red button).

Turn the selector switch on the maintenance push-button panel to
“maintenance operation”.

The maintenance technician can now use the buttons on the maintenance
push-button panel to move the car up (by pressing the blue and white
buttons simultaneously) or down (by pressing the blue and black buttons
simultaneously) at speed (automatically selected as slow).
When stopping the movement, it is advisable to release the common blue
button before the direction button so that the lift stops more smoothly
(highly recommended).

IMPORTANT!
Nevertheless, there are two safety stop contacts in the pit; the first upwards one is active when
the lift is in maintenance operation and stops the car moving down when it reaches it.
This contact is positioned to anticipate the impact of the car on the pedestal / buffer.
