 Check that, when the detection devices are activated, the system take the car to the designated
landing
 Check that once the designated landing has been reached, the lift, depending on the parking
mode set in accordance with local laws,
a) open the doors for up to 20 s before closing them and park out of service the car
b) open the doors and stop the outboard car with open doors.
 Check that all the push-buttons on the floor and on the car, panels are not working and you
cannot make calls from landings and from the car.
 Check that the open door push-button and the emergency alarm push-button are working.
 Check that manual or automatic detection devices are present, in good condition, and are
properly working, and that the lift responds to the signals that they have sent.
 Check that the prohibition signals "Do not use the lift in event of fire" are exposed next to the
lift, easily visible from all landings, clean, in good condition and readable.
VIII. C AR
VIII.a Emergency lighting and return at landing
 Check that emergency lighting switches on and that the return at floor and door opening device
is working properly in event of power failure.
- To perform the test, turn OFF the main circuit breaker.
 Check, during the return to the floor, that the battery voltage measured with a tester is close to
12Vdc and in any case not less than 10Vdc.
If the voltage is less than 10Vdc it is recommended to replace the battery
VIII.b Push-buttons and key switches
 Check that all push-buttons, key switches, and signal (display) in the car are working properly
VIII.c Wall panels and ceiling
 Check that all wall panels, mirrors and ceiling are properly and securely fixed
 Check all the car lighting lamps are on.
VIII.d Car door: closing and/or locking device
 Check that the car door closing/locking contacts are clean and properly working

Check that the unlocking device is working/coupling properly with all the landing door locks.
VIII.e Car door: sliding, guiding and lubrication
 Check the landing - car doors coupling is clean, in good condition and properly adjusted and
working
 Check that the car doors are not damaged, that opening and closing are done without friction
and in a silent way
 Check the wear condition, integrity and correct working of belts, chains, cables, ropes and
recall springs.
 Check the wear condition of the hanger rollers and shoes of door panels

Check that all moving parts are clean, in good condition, properly working and, where
VIII.f Car door: passenger protection devices
 Check that the re-opening device in case a person is bumped by the door (Safety edge)
functions properly

Check that the light curtains are clean, in good condition, securely fixed and working properly.
VIII.g Levelling to the floor
 Check the leveling on arrival at each floor.
 Check, by performing the downward manual maneuver, the correct working of the relevelling
devices.
VIII.h Emergency alarm device
 Check that the alarm push-button and the intercom device work properly.
