General Troubleshooting
1. Follow Pressure Relief Procedure, page 15 before
checking or repairing the gun.
2. Check all possible problems and causes before
disassembling gun.
Problem Cause Solution
Fluid leakage from the back of
fluid packing area.
Worn packings or needle shaft. Replace the fluid cartridge. See Fluid Car-
tridge Replacement, page 34.
Repair the needle assembly. See Fluid
Cartridge Repair, page 35.
Air leakage from gun. Air valve not seating properly. Replace the air cartridge. See Air Cartridge
Replacement Procedure, page 30
Clean the Air Cartridge. See Air Cap
Assembly Repair Procedure, page 31
Fluid leakage from front of gun. Needle ball worn or damaged. Replace the needle assembly. See Fluid
Cartridge Replacement, page 34.
Repair the Fluid Cartridge. See Fluid
Cartridge Repair, page 35.
Worn seat. Replace Fluid Cartridge. See Fluid Cartridge
Replacement, page 34.
Replace the seat and seat gasket. See Fluid
Cartridge Repair, page 35.
Fluid viscosity too low for proper
seal with carbide seat.
Install fluid cartridge 26B701 which includes a
plastic seat and sst ball
Fluid in air passages. Spray tip seal leaking. Tighten retaining ring or replace spray tip.
Leaking around seat housing. Replace the gasket (carbide models only).
See Fluid Cartridge Repair, page 35. The
gasket must be replaced whenever the seat
assembly is removed.
Slow fluid shut-off. Fluid buildup on fluid needle
components.

Remove and clean or replace the fluid needle
assembly. See Fluid Cartridge Repair,
page 35.
