becomesagel,itscolordarkens,oritbecomes
dilutedwithisocyanate.
Gelformationisduetomoistureabsorption
bythepumplubricant.Theintervalbetween
changesdependsontheenvironmentin
whichtheequipmentisoperating.Thepump
lubricationsystemminimizesexposureto
moisture,butsomecontaminationisstill
possible.
Lubricantdiscolorationisduetocontinual
seepageofsmallamountsofisocyanatepast
thepumppackingsduringoperation.Ifthe
packingsareoperatingproperly,lubricant
replacementduetodiscolorationshouldnotbe
necessarymoreoftenthanevery3or4weeks.
Tochangethepumplubricant:
1.FollowPressureReliefProcedure,page30.
2.LifttheISOLubricantbottle(TS)outofthe
bracketandremovethecontainerfromthe
cap.Placethecapintoasuitablecontainer
tocaptureanyresiduallubricant.
