ADJUSTMENTS
AIR PRESSURE REGULATOR/FILTER
The Air Pressure Regulator should be set to read 80 PSI. With air connected, pull up on the knob of the
regulator. This unlocks the knob so that the air pressure can be adjusted. Once the pressure is set to 80 PSI,
push the knob back down to lock knob.
CAUTION DO NOT ALLOW THE FILTER WATER SEPARATOR BOWL TO BECOME FULL.
EMPTY AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY.
ROLL HOLDER
Raise or lower the Roll Holder as needed by turning the Crank. Set the height of the Roll Holder so that
approximately 1/2" of the Film is extending above the Film Feed Belts during operation (See Figure 4).
PHOTO EYE DETECTOR PLACEMENT
1. The positioning of the Photo Eye is instrumental in determining the width of the bag in relationship with
the Vertical Heat Sealer. The Photo Eye projects a beam of light which is reflected back into the eye. When
the beam is broken by the Eye Mark on the Film. Then it sends a signal to the Programmable Controller in the
Main Electrical Box that tells the Film Feed Drive to stop and the Vertical Heat Sealer to form the sides of the
bag. If there is any repositioning of the Photo Eye, the Vertical Heat Sealer must move that same distance to
maintain the bag width.
2. The Photo Eye Bracket is designed to rotate from one side of the Film to the other side because the beam
of the Photo Eye must be projected on the same side of the Film that the Eye Mark is printed on.
3. There is a Light/Dark selection adjustment and sensitivity adjustment that needs to be made on the Photo
Eye in order for the Eye Mark to be detected. Those adjustment instructions can be found in the Photo Eye
Detector manufacturer’s manual accompanying the machine.
PERFORATOR BLADE ADJUSTMENT AND REPLACEMENT
After a period of machine operation, the Perforator Blade will need to be adjusted or replaced. To adjust
Blade, loosen the four Set Screws on the Perforator Holder, then adjust the Blade by loosening the two Hex
Nuts and turning the Hex Bolts clockwise to bring the Blade out further.
When the Blade Backup becomes flush with the outside edge of the Perforator Holder and the Blade still
doesn't perforate deep enough, replace the Blade and Silicone Backup.
Note: Correct perforator operation is when there is about 1/8" distance between each film perforation.
CAUTION ALWAYS DISCONNECT AIR PRESSURE FROM THE MACHINE AND PUSH THE
STOP BUTTON ON THE CONTROL PANEL BEFORE PLACING HANDS BETWEEN
THE VERTICAL HEAT SEAL GUARDS.
HEAT SEAL TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER (See Figure 2)
The Heat Seal Temperature Controller setting depends on the bag rate, Film thickness, and the type of Film. If
the temperature is set too high and the machine is running at high output, product may enter the bag before the
sides cool, forcing the sides of the bag to split and spilling the contents. Testing bags at various temperature
settings will yield the best results. 575° F is a good starting temperature.
