CONVEYOR ADJUSTMENTS
The Conveyor may be raised or lowered by turning the hand crank. The Conveyor should be adjusted so that
it holds the bag in a vertical position as the bag is being filled. The Conveyor must also make enough contact
with the bottom of the filled bag to hold it in a vertical position as it is transported by the Feed Belt System
The Conveyor must be located horizontally so that the filled bag will fall off the end of the Conveyor Belt just
after the bag has been tied. To relocate the Conveyor horizontally, loosen the four Hex Head Cap Screws
holding the Conveyor Locking Straps on the underside of the Conveyor Support Weldments. Slide the
Conveyor unit to the proper location and retighten the four Hex Head Cap Screws locking the Conveyor in
position.
Note: Filled bags should be supported by the conveyor until the Closer operation is finished to prevent
damaging the Closer Feed Belts.
PRODUCTION RATE
The production Rate of the Model 525 Wire Tie Machine may be varied by adjusting the Drum Reducer
Pulley.
1. Loosen the four bolts mounting the Drive Motor, which will release the tension on the Drive Belt.
2. Loosen the set screw on the outer half of the Reducer Pulley and turn the outer half of the pulley
clockwise to decrease the production rate of the machine.
3. Retighten the set screw securely after making sure it is lined up with a flat on the shaft.
4. Restore the tension to the Drive Belt, then retighten the four bolts mounting the Drive Motor.
PROX SWITCH ACTIVATING CAM
The Volumetric Filler rotates in a counterclockwise direction to fill the bag with product. The Proximity
Switch Activating Cam is mounted on the top of the Filler Drum and rotates with it, triggering the Proximity
Switch. The Cam should be set so that the Prox Switch activation light is (on) at the same time that the
chamber is completely over the Chute.
CAUTION: THIS OPERATION INVOLVES HANDLING DRIVEN MACHINERY - DISCONNECT
POWER BEFORE PERFORMING CAM ADJUSTMENT.
To Adjust:
1. With the Chute Cover and Drum Drive Guard removed, turn the Filler Drum counterclockwise by rotating
the Drum Drive Belt.
2. Stop turning the Filler Drum when it has reached a position as described in (Figure 9), Now adjust the
Prox Switch Activating Cam to actuate the Prox Switch according to the procedure in (Figure 10).
3. (See Figure 11) for adjusting height relationship between the Prox Switch Eye and Activating Cam.
Note: When the machine is in operation it is very important that the Activation Cam does not go past
Prox Switch when the Filler Drum is completely stopped. (The Eye should still be on when filler
drum is stopped).
