FILM FEED CHAIN TENSION
(See Figure 7)
The tension on the Film Feed Chain should be
checked periodically for proper setting.
To Adjust:
1. Loosen the Mounting Bolt beneath
the Chain Tensioned with wrenches
as shown in (Figure 7).
2. Turn the Chain Tensioned counter-
clockwise until the Tensioned Arm
is deflected 15 degrees as indicated
by the gauge on the Tensioned Body.
3. Retighten the bolt securely.
4. Make sure the Idler Bolt and Sprocket
is secure before starting the drive. FIGURE 7
TEAR OFF SYSTEM
Use the following procedure if the bags are hesitant in tearing free from each other.
1. Stop the machine, DISCONNECT THE POWER and inspect the bags that are still in the machine for
proper perforation. Is the perforation deep enough and in line with a side seal? To deepen the perforation, see
the “Perforator Blade Adjustment” section.
To adjust the Perforation/Side Seal Alignment, see “Loading Film into Film Feed Belts” steps 10 & 11.
2. Restart the machine and observe the Tear Off Belts as they attempt to tear off a hesitant bag.
• If the belts stop momentarily as the bag is being torn off, adjust the belt tension (see adjustment below).
• If the belts slip on the bag as they try to tear it off, adjust the belt pressure (see adjustment below).
TEAR OFF BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT (See Figure 8)
CAUTION: DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE PERFORMING ADJUSTMENT.
To increase the belt tension of the Tear Off Belts, slightly loosen the Tension Idler Pulleys (9857) and pull
back on pulleys to increase the belt tension. Tighten pulleys in place, same adjustment for both Tear Off Belts.
