TEFLON CLOTH
After a period of machine operation, Film residue may build up on the Teflon Cloth of the Vertical Heat Seal
Pad. This will cause the Vertical Heat Seal Knife to form the bags improperly. To eliminate the Film residue,
lift and turn the Heat Seal Pad Knobs ¼ turn in the direction of the film travel, exposing a fresh section of the
Teflon Cloth. Some Films tend to cause excessive build-up of plastic on the Cloth because of fillers and
additives. If this occurs, coat the Teflon Cloth with Dow Corning Silicone Paste #7 at the beginning of each
shift.
CAUTION: ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE AIR PRESSURE FROM THE MACHINE BEFORE
PLACING HANDS BETWEEN THE VERTICAL HEAT SEAL GUARDS.
Eventually you will run out of usable Teflon Cloth, at which time it will have to be replaced. You will need to
remove the entire Teflon Roller Assembly from the Seal Pad Assembly to replace the cloth.
1. Loosen the Set Screws that secure the two Pad Knobs and remove from the Seal Pad Rollers.
2. Remove the Hex Bolt and Lock Washer that secure the Roller Lock Plate to the Seal Pad Bar. This will
allow the two Seal Pad Rollers to fall from the Seal Pad Bar.
3. Remove the Teflon Cloth from the Seal Pad Rollers by first, pulling off the Electrical Tape from the edges
of the Teflon Cloth. Then remove the Pan Head Screws that hold the Teflon Cloth to the Seal Pad Rollers.
4. Secure a new sheet of Teflon Cloth to the Seal Pad Rollers by using the same Pan Head Screws. We
recommend appling new strips of Electrical Tape to the edges of the Teflon Cloth to avoid tearing of the cloth.
5. Install the Seal Pad Rollers (square end of roller) back into the Seal Pad Bar. Position the Roller Lock
Plate over the ends of the Seal Pad Rollers and secure to bottom of the Seal Pad Bar. Install the Pad Knobs onto
the ends of the Seal Pad Rollers and secure by tightening the Set Screws.
6. Roll up majority of the Teflon Cloth onto the Seal Pad Roller that is closest to the Film Roll. Leave
enough Teflon Cloth on opposite roller to capture the Pan Head Screws, and then lock in position.
FLOW CONTROLS
There are seven Flow Controls that regulate the speed at which the Air Cylinders connected to them advance
and retract. Those Flow Controls are as follows: two control the Perforator, two control the Vertical Heat Seal
Knife, two control the Vertical Hot Knife Retractor.
There is one Flow Control that regulates the air flow to the Bag Puffer, which blows against the film, located
on the Vertical Heat Sealer.
Note: All of the Flow Controls can be adjusted by turning the knob clockwise to decrease flow and
counterclockwise to increase the flow.
