FILM ROLL BRAKE CAM (See Figure 6)
The dancer arm and film feed rollers aid in the film unwind process. When the Film Feed Drive System stops,
the dancer arm is pulled back to the home position by the dancer spring.
In this position, the dancer arm needs to activate the brake air valve. This is achieved by the positioning of the
brake cam. With the dancer film feed roller set at the proper distance of 22” from the frame film feed rollers as
shown in Figure 6, with the machine turned on, loosen the cam set screw.
Adjust the high side of the brake cam to actuate the brake air valve. This will engage the film roll holder
brake cylinder to stop the film roll holder. Check to see if this is true. Then secure the brake cam in that
position by tightening the set screw.
