Rev.7 16
7. The film feed belts are ready to be removed from the film feed system and be replaced with the new film
feed belts.
8. Install the new Film Feed Belts, first around the independent idler pulley mounted to the tail pulley plate.
Next, guide the belt through all the idler pulleys and idler pinch pulleys along the full length of the film path to
the take-up pulley on the exit end of the machine. Bring the belt around the idler pulley, then up to the drive
pulley and back around the tensioner pulley. Repeat for installing the second Film Feed Belt.
9. Position the take up bracket as close to the fill opening as possible and tighten the bolts in that position.
Push the two take-up pulleys up against the film feed belts with equal pressure on each pulley and tighten the
bolts in that position.
10. Push the independent idler pinch pulleys mounted to the tail pulley plate up against the film feed belts
and tighten the bolts in that position.
11. Align all the idler pulleys mounted to the rail guides with the belt path and adjust so that a .020” shim
can just pass between the film feed belts at each set of idler pulleys. The .020” shim will feel a slight resistance
as it is passed down the entire length of the belt path. Secure the rail guides in that position on the guide
support brackets by tightening the bolts.
• Note: This will maintain a pinch point the entire length of the rail guides between each set of idler
pulleys controlling the film as it advances.
12. Push the two idler pinch pulleys and pinch bearings mounted to the fixed fill opening up against the film
feed belts with equal pressure from side to side so that a .020” shim can just pass between the film feed belts.
Secure each pulley and bearing in that position by tightening the bolts.
13. Apply tension to the film feed belts by positioning the two belt tensioners in against the belts and tighten
each tensioner in the direction towards the belt at a 5° deflection as indicated by the gauge on the tensioner
body.
14. Feed the film through the film feed belts and check for bag slippage by pulling down on the film all
along the belt path. If slippage exists, adjust the idler pulleys mounted to the rail guides by loosening the bolts
at the guide support brackets. Then apply the pressure needed to the idler pulleys to firmly hold the film
between the belts and tighten the bolts in that position. Adjust the idler pinch pulleys in the same manner.
15. Next check for bag slippage while product is being dumped. If slippage occurs, again adjust the pressure
of the idler pulleys and idler pinch pulleys until you have adequate pressure needed to firmly hold the bag
between the belts, then tighten the bolts.
