During recharging, the hydrogen produced by batteries is flammable and explosive. Therefore, pay
attention to the following matters before operation:
· If batteries that are still installed on the truck are recharged, the ground cable has to be
disconnected.
· When connecting and disconnecting battery charger cables, the power switch on the charger should
be off.
Caution
It is only safe to charge batteries in open areas. Do not charge batteries in a poorly ventilated
garage or enclosed room.
Do not charge batteries when the engine is running. All accessories must be turned off.
3. Precautions for using batteries
Batteries can produce explosive gases, the electrolyte is corrosive, and batteries can generate enough
current to burn your skin. When handling batteries or working nearby them, you should observe the
following precautions:
Caution
Wear safety goggles when working nearby batteries.
Do not contact the battery terminal with tools to avoid sparks.
Do not expose batteries to naked flames and sparks.
When batteries are connected with electrical equipment, attention should be paid to the correct
connection of positive and negative electrodes to avoid fires.
Do not place conductive items on batteries to avoid short circuits.
Avoid splashing electrolyte on your eyes, skin, or clothing.
Keep batteries away from children.
Emergency measures for electrolyte:
If the electrolyte gets into your eyes,
You should rinse your eyes with clear water for at least 15min and see a doctor immediately. If
possible, you should continue to clean your eyes with a sponge or cloth that can absorb water on
the way to hospital.
If the electrolyte spills onto your skin
you should clean the site thoroughly. If you feel burning or pain, you should see a doctor
immediately.
If the electrolyte spills on your clothing
it can penetrate clothing and stick on your skin. You should take off your clothing immediately
and take the previously mentioned measures if necessary.
