Cummins diesel engine:
Tanked type:
① Turn off the engine;
② Place a container under the fuel filter;
③ Lift the drain valve lever until the fluid has
completely drained from the drain tube and
the fuel is clean;
④ Push up the drain lever until the fluid has
completely drained from the tube.
Rotating type:
① Turn off the engine;
② Place a container under the fuel filter;
③ Open the drain valve by hand. Rotate the
valve about 3.5 turns counterclockwise until
the valve drops by 25.4mm and starts to drain.
④ Drain the water in the separator until clean
fuel is seen.
Caution
Do not overtighten when closing the
drain valve. Overtightening will damage
the threads. To close the valve, lift the
valve and rotate it clockwise until it is
tightened by hand.
Complete combustion -
normal
Incomplete combustion -
abnormal
Engine oil burning - abnormal
Water in combustion chamber
- abnormal
Warning
Do not run the engine in places with poor
ventilation because the exhaust contains
carbon monoxide which is poisonous to
humans.
