5.3.4.1 Checking the battery

Risk of fire and explosion due to faulty battery
The safety electronics on damaged or faulty batteries
may fail. The residual voltage can cause a short
circuit. The batteries may self-ignite and explode.
The battery needs to be checked before it is charged
for the first time.
Press the On-Off button (battery).
If none of the LEDs on the operating and charge
status indicator light up, the battery may be
damaged.
The battery can be charged if at least one of the
LEDs on the operating and charge status indicator
is fully lit up, but not if all of them are.
Once the battery has been charged, insert the
battery on the bicycle.
Never charge a defective battery.
