4. Do one of the following:
• Extend the front drive cages out of the chassis.
• Remove the system from the rack.
5. Place the server on a flat, level work surface.
6. Remove the access panel.
7. Select an available PCIe expansion slot that is x8 physical size and x4 electrical.
8. Remove the expansion slot cover.
Save the retaining screw, if one is present.
9. Install the boot device.
10. Install any components that were removed to access the expansion slot.
11. Install the access panel.
12. Do one of the following:
• Slide the server into the rack.
• Install the server into the rack.
13. Power up the server.
Deploying an operating system
14. Deploy a supported operating system to the boot device drive.
After the OS installation completes, the system automatically copies the operating system
to the second, mirrored drive on the boot device.
15. Proceed with normal system setup and operation.
