1) INTRODUCTION
The extremely innovative and versatile NFG-8 gas detection control unit is the ideal solution for
small systems with up to 16 gas detectors.
The system provides for the connection of 8 detectors with 4-20mA output directly to the control
unit. Each input can be configured for different types of gas: toxic, refrigerant, flammable and for
oxygen, both for deficiency and enrichment.
The backlit display provides an accurate indication of gas concentration and allows the display
of set alarm levels.
The control unit manages up to 22 relay outputs, 6 of which are on board the control unit and the
other 16 through the card.

The control unit is supplied in an ABS case and can contain 2 batteries of 12Vdc, 7Ah to ensure
the operation of the system even in case of power failure.
NFG-8 is, at the date of issue of this manual, under SIL1 and ATEX certification according to EN
60079-29-1.
Other features of the NFG-8 control unit, are:
• Event memory can be consulted from display or downloaded to PC from 1,000 events.
• USB and RS232 serial ports for connection to PC for programming and management using
PK-NFG-8 software.
