Installation

Assembly and Connections

Remove the 4 screws located at the 4 corners of the box and remove the front of the control unit box.

Detector Connection

The detectors with 4-20 mA analog output are connected to the control unit, directly on the main board.

PC Programming

The NFG-8 control unit can be programmed only by means of a Personal Computer with special software.

System Start-up and Operation

Ignition

After checking that the system has been installed correctly, the NFG-8 control unit can be switched on.

System States

The control unit communicates with the operator through the LCD display and the LEDs on the front panel.

Menu

In normal status, in the main screen appears the list of gas detectors managed by the central unit.

Active Events and Event Management

If you select ACTIVE EVENTS and press ENT, a list will show the current active events.

Software Configuration from PC

Introduction

The PC configuration software is a simple and complete interface for programming the NFG-8 control unit.

Minimum PC Hardware Requirements

Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 CPU: Pentium 3, 500Mhz

Installation

Copy the installation file to your PC and run it, then follow the instructions on the screen.

Opening of the Programme

Open the program from the Windows program bar by clicking on NFG Central Configurator x.x.x

Program Menu

The various program functions are only visible if the logged-in user has sufficient permission level to use them.

Files

The 'Files' menu allows you to create new or open existing configuration files.

Settings

With 'Serial port' you select the serial port of the PC for loading and unloading data.

Users

With 'Logout' the user logged into the program logs out.

Communication

In the 'Communication' menu you set the parameters for data exchange between the PC with the software and the NFG-8 control unit.

Report

The 'Report' menu allows you to export the current configuration file.

Info

Through the 'Info' menu you can get information about the program version.

Edit or Create a New Configuration File

Using the 'Open' command in the File menu, you can call up a previously saved NFG-8 central configuration file for editing.

System Information

If desired, complete the fields with the data concerning the company supplying the system.

General Settings

'Heating time': stand by time of the central unit, immediately after the power on, before being operative

Channels

The 'Channels' menu is used to enable and program the characteristics of the individual gas detectors.

Relays (Outputs)

The 'Relays' menu is used to enable and program the characteristics of the outputs that are part of the system.

Battery Card Connection Steps

DISCONNECT ALL CABLES FROM THE BATTERIES AND REMOVE JP47 TERMINAL BLOCK. CONNECT THE BATTERY CARD TO BATTERY 1 RESPECTING THE POLARITY.
