At the beginning of this demonstration, you configured the
HP 8904A’s circuit ground to be referenced to chassis ground.
Figure
1-8 shows a simplified block diagram of the chassis ground
configuration.

GROUND

Floating Ground
When the FLOAT LED is on for Ouput 1 or 2, the HP 8904A’s circuit
ground
is not referenced to chassis ground at that output. (Floating
ground is the HP 8904As Preset, or default, output configuration.)
