Creating a cluster
This procedure analyzes and veries the hardware and software conguration and identies potential
problems. A comprehensive and easy-to-read report is created, listing any p otential conguration issues
before the cluster is created.
Some issues that can occur are:
No shared disk for the Quorum disk. A shared disk must be created with a NTFS partition at
least 50 MB in size.
Use of DHCP addresses for network connections. All Network adapters must be congured with
static IP addresses in a cluster conguration.
File Services for Macintosh and Service for NetWare are not s upp orted in a cluster conguration.
Dynamic Disks are not supported in a cluster conguration.
Errors appear on a network adapter that is not congured or does not have an active link. If the
network adapter is not going to be used it should be disabled.
NOTE:
It is possible to change the Quorum disk by clicking the Quorum button. This displays a list of available
disks that can be used for the Quorum disk. Select the appropriate disk, and then click OK to continue.
Adding nodes to a cluster
After the node has successfully joined the cluster, present all additional storage LUNS to the node.
