Quota management
On the Quota Management node of the File Server Resourc e Manager snap-in, you can perform the
following tasks:
• Create quotas to limit the space allowed for a volume or folder and generate notifications when
the quota limits are approached or exceeded.
• Generate auto quotas that apply to all existing folders i n a volume or folder, as well as to any
new subfolders cre ated in the future.
• Define quota templates that ca n be easily applied to new volumes or folders and that can be
used across an organization.
File screening management
On the File Screening Management node of the File Server Resource Manager snap-in, you can perform
the following tasks:
• Creat
e file screens to control the types of files that users can save and to send notifications when
users at tempt to save blocked fi les.
• Define file screening templates that can be easily applied to new volumes or folders and that
can be
used across an organization.
• Create file screening exceptions that extend the flexibility of the file screening rules.
Storage reports
On the Storage Reports node of the File Server Resource Manager snap-in, you can perform the following
tasks:
• Schedule periodic storage reports that allow you to identif y trends in d isk usage.
• Monitor attempts to save unauthorized files for all users or a selected group of users.
• Generate storage reports instantly.
