Installing/removing power modules
WARNING!
x To avoid bodily injury and device damage, strictly follow the procedures in Figure 21and Figure
22to install a
nd remove a power module.
x Provide a separate circuit breaker for each power module.
The HPE FlexFabric 5950 switches have two power module slots. It comes with power module slot
PWR1 empty and PWR2 installed with a filler panel. You can install one power module or two power
modules in 1+1 redundancy for the switch.
The HPE A58x0AF 650W AC power supply and the HPE A58x0AF 650W DC power supply are
available for the switch. For more information about these two power modules, see "Power
module
s."

Installing a power module
CAUTION:
x Follow the forward inertia of the power module when inserting it into the chassis, and make sure
the power module has firm contact with the connectors on the backplane.
x To prevent damage to the connectors inside the switch chassis, insert the power module gently. I
you encounter a hard resistance while inserting the power module, pull out the power module
and insert it again.
To install a power module:
1. Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded.
2. Remove the filler panel, if any, from the target power module slot, as shown in Figure 23.
