4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
• Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 40.
• Server in rack mode: Extend the server from the rack on page 41.
6. Remove the access panel on page 45.
7. Remove the air baffle on page 46.
8. If installed, remove the fan cage.
9. Disconnect the SATA-power cable from the optical drive.
10. Pull up and hold the blue release latch, and then remove the optical drive cage.
11. Remove the optical drive from the drive cage.
12. Remove the optical drive bracket.
