Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length } [ sub ]
The IP address of the interface is configured.

3.3.4 Setting the Polling Interval
You can configure the interval for the DTE to send status enquiry packets.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
timer hold seconds
The polling interval is configured.
By default, the pooling interval is 10 seconds. If it is set to 0, then link detection is prohibited.
The HDLC adopt a polling timer to check the status of a link. Configure identical polling interval
on the both ends.
You can adopt the default polling interval or adjust the polling interval as required. In the case
of long network delay or high congestion, you can prolong the polling interval to reduce the
possibility of network flapping.

3.3.5 Checking the Configuration
After basic HDLC functions are configured, you can view the status, link layer protocol and
configuration of the interface.
Prerequisite
The configurations of HDLC are complete.
