Why does my HydraMaster GTXR+ Vacuum Cleaner have a weak vacuum?
    • S
      Susan CastilloSep 12, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner has a weak vacuum, check the vacuum relief valve for proper adjustment. Inspect all the vacuum hoses for cuts or breaks. Check the recovery tank lid gasket and make sure the recovery tank drain valve is fully closed. Check the rpm of the engine and adjust as necessary to 3,200 rpm under no vacuum load. Test the vacuum gauge and replace if necessary.

Why does my HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner truckmount overheat and shut down?
    • A
      Anthony Mcintosh MDAug 22, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner truckmount overheats and shuts down, the issue could stem from a few causes. First, the orifice or filter screen might be restricted, requiring you to remove and inspect it, cleaning as necessary. Another potential cause is a restricted or faulty dump solenoid. Inspect the solenoid and its hose, cleaning or replacing it if needed. Also, check the main fuse; if it's blown, inspect the electrical system for worn or shorted wires, repairing or replacing them. If the solenoid is operable, have a qualified technician test the temperature controller and sensor.

Why is my HydraMaster GTXR+ running rich (black smoke)?
    • A
      Anita PerezSep 6, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner runs rich and produces black smoke, start by inspecting the air filter and replace it if necessary. Check the choke to ensure it is fully open, adjusting or repairing as needed. Verify that the proper fuel pump is installed to prevent excessive fuel delivery to the carburetor. If operating altitudes have changed, contact your distributor to have the engine carburetor jets checked.

Why is there water in my HydraMaster GTXR+ truckmount exhaust?
    • J
      Jesse BrownSep 5, 2025
If you notice water in your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner's exhaust, inspect the recovery tank to ensure it hasn't been overfilled with water or foam; if it has, drain the tank. Inspect the high-level shutoff switch for proper operation, cleaning or replacing it as necessary. If foam is present in the recovery tank, use defoamer on the carpet being cleaned. Condensation in the system can also cause this issue, particularly in cool weather and humid climates, but it should dissipate after a few minutes of running. Finally, inspect the heat exchanger for leaks, repairing or replacing as necessary.

How to troubleshoot unstable or low chemical flow in my HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner?
    • A
      Ashley NormanSep 4, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner has unstable or low chemical flow, check that all fittings and connections are tight and in good condition, repairing or replacing as necessary to eliminate air in the lines. Inspect and clean the filter screen in the chemical jug. Inspect the chemical selector valve for leaks between ports, replacing it if necessary. Remove and inspect the chemical metering valve, cleaning or replacing it as necessary. Remove and inspect the high-pressure check valve, cleaning or replacing it as necessary.

Why does my HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner run rough at high speed?
    • K
      Kevin HardySep 2, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner runs rough at high speed, remove and inspect the spark plugs, cleaning or replacing them as necessary. Inspect the spark plug wires and connectors for damage or loose connections, repairing or replacing them as needed. Check if the fuel pump is mounted in a vertical position near the fuel source, correcting it if necessary. Check for blockage in the filter, repairing or replacing as necessary. If operating altitudes have changed, contact your distributor to have the engine carburetor jets checked.

How to fix a HydraMaster GTXR+ Vacuum Cleaner system that will not prime?
    • C
      Crystal SmithSep 1, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner system won't prime, inspect the check valves in the chemical pump, cleaning or replacing them as necessary. Check the chemical pump diaphragm, replacing it if needed. Inspect the check valve in the high-pressure pump, cleaning or replacing it. Inspect and clean the filter on the feed line in the chemical jug. Inspect and repair any loose, pinched, or damaged feed lines from the chemical jug. Inspect the chemical selector valve for leaks between ports and replace if necessary.

Why isn't my HydraMaster GTXR+ Vacuum Cleaner pump reaching normal cleaning pressure?
    • A
      Amy RollinsAug 31, 2025
If the pump on your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner isn't reaching normal cleaning pressure, start by inspecting the pressure adjusting valve, repairing or replacing it if necessary. Test the pump output volume directly from the pump at normal running rpm; if it's below the manufacturer’s specifications, replace the seals and inspect for defective valves. Check for a loose pump belt and adjust or replace it as needed. Check the engine rpm and adjust as necessary to 3,200 rpm under no vacuum load. Remove and inspect the primary orifice, tightening or replacing it if necessary. Inspect the primary and secondary orifices and reverse if necessary. Measure the primary orifice size and replace as necessary; the correct size is 0.021”.

How to troubleshoot a HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner that won't reach normal operating rpm?
    • M
      mark17Aug 30, 2025
If your HydraMaster Vacuum Cleaner won't reach its normal operating RPM, inspect the throttle linkage for broken or loose parts, repairing or replacing as necessary. Check and clean the recovery tank filters to reduce excessive load on the engine. Inspect the recovery tank to blower hose, repairing or replacing it if necessary. Inspect the heat exchanger for blockages, cleaning or replacing it as needed to address excessive back pressure on the engine exhaust. Inspect the air filter and replace it if dirty.
