Removing and Replacing the Power Switch Assembly
Use the following steps to remove the power switch assembly:
1. Perform the cover removal procedure. Refer to “Removing and Replacing the
Cover” on page 28.
2. Disconnect the power switch cable 1 from the power supply by pinching the
retaining tabs on the sides of the connector and pulling the cable connector out
of the power supply assembly.
3. Remove the two screws 2 that secure the power switch bracket to the bottom
of the 7212 Storage Enclosure chassis.
4. Gently pull the switch assembly towards the rear of the enclosure and lift it
free.
Note:
The status LED cables are mounted to the power switch bracket. Refer to
the procedure in “Removing and Replacing the LED Status Light Cable”
on page 37 for removal information.
To replace the power switch cable assembly, reverse this procedure.
Notes:
1. Use the LED status light cable replacement procedure to reinstall the LED
cable.
2. Make sure to properly align the power button in the center of the chassis hole
to avoid binding.
