a) Label all of the drive cables that connect between the drive backplanes and the drive PCIe
adapters. Note the connector number on the drive backplane and the connector number on the
PCIe adapter.
b) Simultaneously rotate the two latches at (A) up as shown in the following gure. Lift the fan cage
assembly from the system.

c) Disconnect the front drive cables from the drive backplane.
Press the cable connector latch and disconnect the front drive cable from the drive backplane as
shown in the following gure. Be sure to unlatch the cable from the connectors. Do not pull in the
cables themselves; unplug the cables by using the connector.
