Base spinning-disk capacity is 464 TB - 1044 TB, plus six solid-state drives
for performance and system management.

Data and parity is distributed between several disks so it benefits
performance and reliability. In the case of a disk failure, all of the disks
participate in the reconstruction while the input and output demand is
serviced.
No hardware controllers. Disk management and RAID are performed by the
GPFS Native RAID feature.
