Checking the System Accuracy
Laser Receiver Calibration Check Method 1
Setup a rotating laser approximately 5 feet (1.5 m) high with no slope.
Lock the center tooth on the main working screen by taping on the center tooth on the bucket symbol on the left hand side of the screen.
Mark a spot at a point to be reached by the machine.
Place a grade rod on the spot and place your hand held detector on grade.
Read on the grade rod the height difference of the reference spot to the rotating laser (Instrument HI).
Initiate a first laser catch.
Enter the height difference (HI) as the laser height and confirm.
Perform a laser catch.
Place the bucket center tip/edge on the marked spot on the ground. Your reading on the screen should be on grade. ± 1/3 inch (1 cm) is
acceptable.
Check the laser receiver accuracy in various dipper stick angles.
