58 Properties of the imc C-SERIES
Depending on the used measurement amplifier some settings may be incorrect and could create error
messages. Please consider the manual of the corresponding measurement device to find a list of possible
solutions to solve the individual problem ("Troubleshooting" in chapter: Measure with ICP-Expansion
connector).
4.8.7 Troubleshooting
Depending on which measurement amplifiers are used, certain settings options may be disabled and
consequently cause error messages to be posted if selected (no danger can result from incorrect
selection of settings). The following remarks on the error messages may provide aid in troubleshooting:
Combination of coupling and input setting not allowed.
The channel settings (applied either by means of TEDS or the expansion
connector) conflict with the module properties.
This condition is caused when a device is started (with Default properties) for an experiment which
had been set up with the expansion connector (different properties). To remedy the problem, restore
the defaults applicable to the experiment, or modify your experiment, or create a new experiment.
Another possible cause of this condition is that TEDS generated unsuitable channel settings. To
remedy this problem, open the Device Configuration (Settings / Configuration..)and there, under
the setting Sensor / Connected with Sensor, select for all affected channels the option "Use channel
without sensor information" in order to reset all the settings. Alternatively, you can import sensors
(TEDS) having the appropriate coupling (Sensor / Importsensor and adjust channel) or make the
setting via the Sensor Database (Sensors / Open imc SENSORS...).
After preparation of the device, the imc terminal plug at the channel was
switched!
A connector (adapter) with its own associated information (e.g. an ICP- or Q-
adapter) had been recognized by the system in the past, and has affected the
module properties (modes, correction values).
The message 6310 provides notification that the adapter/connector which was expected has been
disconnected/replaced. If this was intentional, the remedy is to go to the Device Configuration
(Settings / Configuration..) and click on the button
(Sensor / Import sensor and adjust channel) in
order to reset these settings (for CRC and CRPL, use the button ).
The sensor is not connected directly, or is not making sensor information
available!
Import of sensor information (TEDS) was not successful.
If the button was not clicked for this purpose, but instead for the purpose of registering an
adapter with the measurement system, you can ignore this message. Otherwise, it may be that the
1Wire model is not supported. Please contact our Hotline to clarify.
