Enhanced IDE Interface
The ICH4’s IDE interface handles the exchange of information between the processor and
peripheral devices like hard disks, CD-ROM drives, and Iomega Zip

drives inside the computer.
The interface supports:
• Up to four IDE devices (such as hard drives)
• ATAPI devices (such as CD-ROM drives)
• Older PIO Mode devices
• Ultra DMA-33 and ATA-66/100 protocols
• Laser servo (LS-120) drives
Serial ATA
The desktop board supports Serial ATA devices using the Silicon Image SiI3112 SATALink PCI
host controller.

Although the Silicon Image SiI3112 SATALink PCI Serial ATA controller on this product supports
up to 150 MB/sec transfer rate, some SATA devices are limited by the PCI bus to a maximum of
133 MB/sec.
The controller supports:
• 150 MB/sec transfer rate
• Up to two SATA devices
• PIO and DMA modes
• Support for RAID 0 (Striping) or RAID 1 (Mirroring)
Expansion Slots
Desktop Board D845PEBT2 has the following add-in card connectors:
• Five PCI bus add-in card connectors (SMBus routed to PCI bus connector 2)
• One AGP connector
