2U 2.5” Front Mount Drive Configurations – SAS Data Cable Guide (with SAS Expander)
SAS drive configurations consisting of more than 8 drives may require the addition of a SAS Expander card. In the 2U 16x2.5” or 24x2.5” system configurations, a
SAS expander can be mounted in the area directly behind the drive bays. Intel provides two SAS expander options to support these drive configurations:
