12.3.4 Malfunction of the outdoor unit
Possible causes Solution
Outdoor unit does not start up. ► Check the supply voltage, 230V AC 50Hz, see §5.3
► Check the isolator switch is turned on.
► Check the switched line powered between the indoor unit and outdoor unit.
► Check the fuses in the outdoor unit; replace if necessary.
Heat output capacity of the outdoor unit
is too low.
► Possible ice formation/debris accumulation restricting the evaporator: carefully
clean the evaporator or remove the ice/snow see §13.3
► Check the settings; adjust settings if necessary.
► Check operation of air intake NTC; replace if necessary.
► Too little refrigerant in the system: check for leaks and top up the system if
necessary (should only be performed by an F-gases certified installer).
Low pressure problems at start-up.
► Filter blockage. Replace filter.
► Check EEV (Electronic expansion valve) cables.
► Check whether the solonoid on the EEV is faulty.
► No airflow in heat exchanger; check fan operation; check whether the heat
evaporator is clean.
► Shortage of refrigerant in the system: check for leaks and top up (should only be
performed by an F-gas certified installer).
Compressor won't start. ► No compressor voltage; check power supply/fuses
► Check electrical connections.
► Compressor protection triggered; compressor temperature too high.
► Check refrigerant fill level.
Compressor makes a high-pitched sound ► Fluid refrigerant enters compressor; poor evaporation in system. Find cause and
try to resolve it.
► Faulty compressor; repair compressor.
Fan is not operating ► Faulty fan fuse; replace fuse.
► Faulty fan motor; replace motor.
► Fan printer circuit board is faulty or internal cables are damaged.
The compressor works, but there is no
heat output from the heat pump.
► Shortage of refrigerant in the system: check for leaks and top up (should only be
performed by an F-gas certified installer).
► Evaporator faulty; locate and replace if required.
► Compressor faulty; replace compressor.
IMPORTANT
► If a fault/notification causes the boiler to operate and take over from the hybrid heat pump
system, it can have an adverse eect on the end user’s energy consumption.
► Replace defective parts with original Intergas parts only.
► Failure to install the sensors or installing them incorrectly may result in serious damage.
