6.1Driving

Ifyourmobilitydeviceisttedwithcastorlocks
andthesearelocked,thecastorscannotmove
freelyandthemobilitydevicemighttherefore
notreacttoyoursteeringasitshould.
–Makesurethecastorlocksareunlockedbefore
driving.

Themaximumloadcapacitythatisstatedinthe
technicaldataonlystatesthatthesystemisdesigned
forthismassintotal.However,thisdoesnotmean
thatonecansitapersonwiththisbodyweightin
themobilitydevicewithoutrestrictions.Attention
mustbepaidtothebodyproportions,suchas
height,weightdistribution,abdominalbelt,leg
andcalfstrapandseatdepth.Thesefactorshave
astronginuenceondrivingfeaturessuchastilt
stabilityandtraction.Thepermissibleaxleloadsin
particularmustbeadheredto(referto11Technical
Data,page114
).Itmaypossiblybenecessarytocarry
outadaptationstotheseatsystem.
6.2BeforeDrivingforFirstTime
Beforeyoutakeyourrsttrip,youshouldfamiliariseyourself
wellwiththeoperationofthemobilitydeviceandwithall
operatingelements.Takeyourtimetotestallfunctions
anddrivingmodes.
Ifinstalled,makesuretoproperlyadjustandusethe
posturebelteachtimeyouusethemobilitydevice.
Sittingcomfortably=Drivingsafely
Beforeeachtrip,makesurethat:
•Youarewithineasyreachofalloperatingcontrols.
•Thebatterychargeissufcientforthedistanceyou
intendtotravel.
•Theposturebelt(ifinstalled)isinperfectorder .
•Therearmirror(ifinstalled)isadjustedsoyoucanlook
behindatalltimeswithouthavingtobendforwardor
shiftyourseatingposition.
6.3ParkingandStationary
Whenparkingyourmobilitydeviceorifyourmobilitydevice
isstationaryforaprolongedperiod:
1.Switchthemobilitydevice’spowersystemoff(ON-/OFF
key).
2.Activateyouranti-theftlock,ifexisting.
6.3.1Activatinganddeactivatingthemanualwheellock
Themotorsofthemobilitydeviceareequippedwith
automaticbrakes,preventingthatthemobilitydevicestarts
rollingoutofcontrolwhenthejoystickboxisswitchedoff.
